History

Principal promoter Mr. Chander Bhalla (CB) is a Mechanical Engineering Graduate of  Indian Institute of Technology (I.I.T.), Kharagpur.

CB started Grand Prix Filter Corpn. (GPFC) in rented premises as an Automotive Filter Manufacturing Company and thus the name.

Started developing Industrial Filters. First product was Hydraulic Oil Filters like Suction Strainers, Air Breathers, Return Line Filters etc.

Developed High Pressure Hydraulic Oil Filters.

Started Indigenization of the Imported Filters in the Fertilizer Industry like National Fertilizers Ltd, Naya Nangal and Fertilizer Corporation of India Ltd, Sindhri.

Developed Air Intake Filters for the Gas Turbines.

First Factory Premises was taken over at Najafgarh Road, New Delhi.

Developed a range of Y Type Strainers.

Developed a range of Simplex Strainers.

Set up Sales Office at Mahim, Mumbai.

Developed Duplex Strainers.

Developed Cartridge Filters.

Developed 3 way Valves for the Strainers and Filters.

Developed Sliding Gate Valves for the large Size Duplex Strainers.

Bought land for the second factory at Mohan Coop. Ind Estate in Delhi and started construction in the name of Grand Prix (P) Ltd.

Developed and sold 6 Nos 24" Cast Iron Duplex Filters to the Power Industry.

Developed Dry Gas Filters and Filter Separators.
Entered into a Technical Collaboration with Burgess-Manning Inc, USA for Filters, Separators and Silencers.
Got orders for Gas conditioning Skids from Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd., Hyderabad (BHEL)
Got orders for Lube & Seal Oil System from BHEL.
Got orders from BHEL for Fuel Oil Unloading Skids & Fuel Oil Forwarding Skids for Gas Turbine.

Executed the first Gas Turbine Exhaust Silencer Order received from BHEL, Hyderabad.
Got orders for five more Gas Turbine Exhaust Silencers.
Supplied largest size of 1500 NB Basket filter to Vikram Ispat.

Bought the present land in Faridabad and started the factory.

Executed first Order of Separators received from NATCO.
Fabricated & supplied Kiln Hood  4.4 m dia X 9.5 m high to CIMMCO.
Design & Manufacturing of First Quick Opening Closure for GAIL's Project.

Supplied First Activated Carbon Filter to Bindal Agro.
Developed and manufactured heavy duty 80 wheel trailer for the transport industry as a one of case.
First GT Exhaust Ducting manufactured & supplied for Kirloskar Oil Engines

Company's name changed to GRAND PRIX FAB PVT. LTD.

In October  Mr. Chander Bhalla joined Burgess-Manning  and moved abroad.
Supplied Gas Turbine Exhaust System to L&T with Erection & Commissioning for 100 MW Kovaya CCPP.

Accredited ISO 9001:1994 Certification.

Set up office in Nehru Place.
Accredited with certification from ASME for authorization to use "U" Stamp on Pressure Vessels.

Added Heavy Plate Roll Bending Machine to have in house capability to make Shell of CS in 50 mm thickness.
Authorized by ASME to use "U-2" Stamp on Pressure Vessels.
Authorized by National Board to apply "NB" mark on Pressure Vessels.

Stress Relieving Furnace, Grit Blasting & Paint Shop added to have better in-house quality assurance
Approved as Vendor by PDO Oman
Executed Export Order of 17 Separators valued INR 85 Million for SOLAR, Oman project (65/70 mm thick vessel & "U-2" Stamp)

New Office building completed.
Name of Company changed from Grand Prix Fab Pvt. Ltd. To Grand Prix Engineering Pvt. Ltd.

Supplied our first largest dia 5.5 m & heaviest 89 Tonnes Activated Carbon Filter to IOCL, Vadodara.
Added S.S. Strip Cladding Head for Clad Vessels.

Executed Order of 5 nos 30" Pipe Size #600 Cartridge Filters for GAIL Vijaipur Dadri Bawana Pipe Line Project.
Booked single order, valued at Rs.7.00 Crores for Fuel Gas Treatment System from BHEL, Hyderabad for PDO, Amal Project ,Oman.

Appointed International & Regional Sales Resident Managers in East, North, South & West Zones to serve the customer more effectively.
Booked domestic order for 70 mm thk Pressure Vessel from BHEL, Hyderabad.

Supplied  6 Nos  60” NB T-Strainers for Paradip Refinery, Orissa.
Supplied  5 Nos Tanks for Super Critical  Boilers installed in Prayagraj Super  Thermal Power Project

Received single largest value order of US$ 2.7 Million (INR 16.80 Crores) for Diesel Driers.

Executed order of Basket Strainer (28” Dia x 600#) & T Strainer (28” Dia x 900#) in DSS material for HMEL for their Pipeline project.
Executed order of Skid Mounted Package (2 Phase Separator) for Pall Corporation, UAE.

Executed single large order worth INR 6.25 Crore of Basket Filter for HPCL –Mittal Pipeline Ltd

Mr. Chander Bhalla retired and sold 100 % shares of the company to Victora auto.
